““With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”” ~ Jesus
Gospel of Matthew Chapter 19 verse 26*
Most of the country has heard or seen the heroic at-bat from Justin Turner.
The moment in time captured and frozen for a lifetime.
As a Dodger fan, it was more than this. It was almost a replay of another great moment in Dodger lore. You see back in 1988, almost to the date and time, another Dodger great made history. That year the Dodgers went on to win the World Series.
We’ll have to wait and see if this team will go on to repeat the same feat.
People have been and will be talking about this home run for a long time.
History tends to repeat itself, and maybe in another 29-30 years, we’ll see another Dodger in a similar situation.
Every kid who has ever played baseball, dreams of doing precisely the same thing those two Dodger greats have done. All kids who love baseball imagine it’s the bottom of 9th, with 2 outs and the opportunity to be up at bat. I remember playing ball with my older brother and our friends. That’s what we did over and over when it was baseball season. I am pretty sure that most kids in America dreamed of this.
But only a few greats in any sport achieve their longtime dream of being the one who wins the game for their team.
What people won’t talk about is the hard work and motivation that takes place to achieve a moment in time.
If you look at all the players who transcend time or professionals in your field who excel, they all have one thing in common:
~ They did what others aren’t willing to do.
~ They did what everyone else told them couldn’t be done.
~ They believed in the goals they set for themselves.
~ They did not quit until it was achieved.
For those of us that are Christians, nothing is impossible with God.
What are you waiting for?
Go practice whatever God has for you. Do it over and over and over until it becomes second nature. Then go and show the world all the hard work you’ve put in. God will supply all your needs!***
So take a moment to ask yourself this:
What is that moment in time I have been praying for?
Trust God that if it’s in His perfect will, it will happen.
Trust yourself to trust God and go get your moment in time.
You will find that God has extraordinary moments in time waiting for you throughout your journey…
