Follow up to INDEPENDENCE DAY 2021
Over the weekend I was getting some money out. I started counting how much I had. Not much. But I unrolled the amount I had, lo and behold, there was a $20 bill that was ripped perfectly in half, scratch that, almost perfectly. You see, like this country, this $20 bill has weathered the storms of life. It may not be crisp and perfect, but the value still holds. Some people will look at this $20 bill and say that it’s worthless, that it was never a real $20 bill; that the bill always looked like this. That the value of it is not really worth $20. Some others will say that they hate this $20 for what it stands for.
They will hate the fact the the $20 is still around. They will wish it to disintegrate or disappear forever.Os Roca
Then there’s a good portion from all walks of life in this country, that will look at it and know its worth. They will understand that this bill needs repairing. That this bill holds value, no matter the way it looks. The same people will take this broken in half $20 bill, and tape it up careful to make sure it reattaches itself from the rip, so as to keep the look as near perfect as possible. From that percentage of people who know this $20 bill’s worth, some will be even that much more careful, and pay extra attention to taping the ripped sides together, where someone picking up that bill, will barely notice the tape. I wish I had that time on the day that I saw the $20 bill. I would have taken my time and made sure that I used the kind of transparent tape you barely notice… but I did not. I had to rush out and start my busy day. Even with the careless reattaching of this $20 bill, I was able to use it. Guess what? The person getting the $20 bill from me didn’t blink an eye when I paid with it. There was no stretching the $20 bill and looking through it to make sure it had a magnetic strip. The person didn’t look at me with disdain for giving her a ripped up, beat up, weathered and life worn $20 bill. She didn’t even flinch. She gave me back a few $1’s, and some change, without protest!
So for all those people that love that $20 bill for what it signifies, I salute you. The significance of the bill is simple, our country is divided right down the center.
We may be weathered, worn, torn…but this country is still the best country in the world. We must rebuild our walls, & the walls of the churches throughout America.Os Roca
We still have time to mend the fences. Just like taping up this $20 bill, our country needs all those who aren’t foolishly trying to rip it apart. It needs more people to stand up and say, “This country is worn, it’s weathered, life lately has it almost broken. This country, our country that we love, is still not ripped apart!”
The dark forces trying to control all of the citizens of this great country will say otherwise. The small percentage of people who are buying the garbage spewing out of their Social media and Newscasts mouths, is still small. These same dark forces will tell you that like the $20 bill, our country is not worth reattaching. I will tell these evildoers to go somewhere else to preach their poisonous babble!
And I will encourage the rest of the majority of people from both sides of the Aisle to come together, and mend our country. And like Nehemiah, to start building the walls of their own houses. I ask the majority of the people who still love the values of this country, to not listen to those who are wanting to tear the walls down and rip the country in half; they will continue to viciously do so. Until all of us finally have had enough, and send them packing. Because the value of this country is exactly like that old $20 dollar bill. Whether it is torn, roughed up, and weathered to the point of ripping in half, we can mend it and it will hold its value no matter how it looks, or what this country has been through.
Be a Nehemiah, don’t allow the ‘nay sayers’ to convince you to stop trying to reattach this country.Os Roca
Because there is no where else that we can go to, if this righteous, and greatest God-given experiment ever fails, where will people turn to? Because there is no country left out there with the same values and rights that we hold dear….
