What chains are keeping you from moving forward?
“”Jesus answered them, “Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, that everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the household forever, but the son does remain forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!”” John 8:34-36 ISV
Today is the start of the work week. I say to you, set yourselves free from anything that is holding you back! Why, because Jesus can and will set you free if you just ask Him to.
I just got off with a young man that is battling on his own. He knows the things that he has done have put him in conflict with God. Yet, he also knows that Jesus can help him. The thing is, this young man has to believe that Jesus can set him free and will not only bring him back to the place he was in but exalt him into a better spot. If this young man will only submit to God.
Will it be hard? Of course. Will this young man’s battles get worse? They may, but this time, he will have the help of the Creator of the universe. The One that made all things and spoke life into them. How much of an advantage is this for this young man? It would be like an enemy of thousands fighting against vast and countless army of mighty warriors coming to the rescue of just one person.
If we only saw the actual strength of the Almighty, we would not be whimpering in fear of the unknown.
I also count myself in the whimpering millions sometimes. Why, when I have slowed down my prayer life, I become weak spiritually and therefore my mind and body start feeling the effects of this.
When my prayer life is strong, my thoughts are like being in a high and mighty tower surrounded by humongous storms coming my way, yet nothing bothers me.
So today, if you feel like quitting or whimpering about what life has thrown your way or if you feel surrounded by countless enemy hordes; remember this:
The God of the Bible, the great I AM, The Creator of all things, the One, who spoke everything and breathed into them new life, is right in front of you. Jesus is there protecting you. He will guide and teach you.
All you have to do is ask.
Start this week by allowing Jesus to take the things that are overpowering you and let him calm the storms or rebuke the winds or send your enemies whimpering into the sea!
Have a great Monday everyone!
