Son & Holy Spirit – PleaseBeStillMoments

Is posting political posts and debates serving our community? Especially when family members or friends who are unbelievers are watching us on what’s supposed to be one of our Holy Days? ….

First off, as Christians, we have a duty to be involved in all aspects of life. This includes having a political view. I am a firm believer that we, as Christians, should gIve back to the community in everything and by individual callings God has placed in each person’s heart. If this means being the best doctor or lawyer or political leader, you do it to the fullest. Because God gives all of us different gifts and directions to journey through in life.

Secondly, if you have to work on Sunday’s because of the industry you’re in, keep doing your work cheerfully until the LORD brings you out of this period. Be an example to all who see your work. Let those who don’t know the grace and peace of Christ, glorify His name and want to have what you have.

Now to the thing I have noticed— Sunday Posts:

I see more and more political posts on Facebook. Even Christians are getting to the political arena or into things that may not be what we should be talking about on Sundays.

Sunday is the Lord’s day. This is when Christ rose. And this is where we, as Christians, observe our faith in God’s miraculous mighty power of defeating death and bringing people back to a personal relationship with Him.

Of course every day should be the Lords day. But on Sunday it’s a special thing. Some of our brothers and sisters in Christ believe that we need to keep the Sabbath Holy. Yes, this is God’s command to all humanity. It is not a Jewish thing to do. But remember what Paul said in Romans:

…4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. 5 One man regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes a special day does so to the Lord; he who eats does so to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.… Romans 14.

I personally have a Friday Night study that has been going on for years. I did not start it as a Sabbath Study or to keep the Sabbath, but because I wanted my kids and their friends to have a safe place to be on Fridays. I just kept teaching on that certain day and the blessing of seeing the Orthodox Jewish folks pass by and hear me speak about Jesus and his prophetic Jewishness, is a blessing to know that they are being witnessed to as they pass by our house and the windows are wide open for all to hear.

Now the reason why Sunday’s are crucial to observe and why we call it the LORD’s Day is because of Jesus’ resurrection, and the most important implications for us as Christians. You see, without Jesus rising from the dead, there would be no faith in our own resurrection through Christ’s work on the cross and in the grave. We tend to forget this essential and highly critical second part of His work.

Which brings me to what we as as Christians should be doing for our community. Sundays are too important to get caught up in political debates which sometimes get heated. Because politics will never ever save anyone, or ever change a person’s heart.

The only way that we will change this country is not by going at each other politically. Yes, there are times when we have to say something to refute the fake news or dangerous political views being glamorized on TV or schools, but…

We have six days to do this. On Sundays, I’m going to start first by sharing what God has done for me.
I will post of His promises and of His love for people without comprimising my tenets:

—That God became human as He was born to a Judean virgin named Mary.

—That Jesus grew up with every human weakness we all face in our lives.

—That God brought His promises from prophecies of old.

—That these promises of old, became real and were fulfilled in Jesus.

—That Jesus died on the cross, was buried and rose again.

—That Jesus ascended into heaven and promises us to come back for His sheep.

—That if He rose from the grave, He has conquered death and we also have conquered death through His power of salvation through God’s grace, which is given freely for the repentance of our sins.

—That we as Christians, need to become His actions here on earth, and reach the community with the Gospel.

—That we share the gospel so intensely with our actions and love, that we will not have to preach it with our mouths. Because non-Christians will see Christ in us through our actions and the way we live.

—That we go out into our communities and make disciples of all nations! Literally here in Souther California, there are hundreds of languages being spoken. We are the crossroads to the Asian Continent. We don’t need to fly thousands of miles to reach the world for Christ. We can, and should start in our community first, this is our Jerusalem.

Therefore, we need to change people’s hearts and minds through the power of salvation , regeneration and transformation into each person’s life.

We as Christians need to be a community united in one accord in prayer, discipleship, and outreach to our communities. This is the only way that we will be effective and change the direction we are seeing all over the United States and the world. Join me in sharing the Gospel in some way on Sundays. Leave everything else behind. May we concentrate sharing and discipling the Grace of Christ and His commands with our families, our neighbors and our friends on Sundays. Sports, politics and entertainment can wait until Monday…

Hospitality Anyone? |Christian Basics Series

The secret to the early church was something to behold. The original twelve disciples and their families learned from our Lord Himself. They in turn passed it on to the seventy which in turn continued to pass on once the original twelve disciples were gone. But what made this incredible early church successful. One of the things was being hospitable to all who came to hear the Good News of Christ.

First off, the love of Jesus. Without this Agape love, they would not have had the success they did. When our Lord laid down His life for His disciples, there would be no way for the original twelve to go back to the way things were. Jesus had become our living sacrifice, wholly acceptable to the Father. He humbly and obediently went to the cross and exalted Himself above all names and therefore opened the way for the rest of humanity to follow. This kind of love is not natural, and Has disciples would follow Him obediently to their deaths. Because Jesus made an example of Himself as the Good Shepherd laying down His life for His sheep.

Secondly, the disciples had the very first powerful and incredible filling of the Holy Spirit, without this, the early church would not have had the success it did. Remember the original twelve cowering in the upper room while Jesus was being sacrificed on the cross for our sins? What was the turning point for these men and the rest of the disciples? It was the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit , says the LORD.“

It is during the Pentecost after the crucifixion and ascension of our Lord, that the disciples became who they should have always been. The gospel sharing and hospitable men and women of God that would by the love, Spirit and hospitality, change the known world at the time. Without the Spirit, they would have no supernatural love. Without the love, they could not be hospitable.

Thirdly, they then had unity of spirit that would transcend anything the Romans and Jews had. They formed communities from the start which helped the early church withstand the persecution which came later.

Fourthly, they were led to pick men who would lead the next generations of Christians into eternity. They had sense enough to know to pick elders and deacons who showed the original love and the core values which Christ taught. Part of that love was to open up ypur home to share the gospel and pray.

Fifthly, without the power of the Spirit to be hospitable, Christians can do nothing on their own. The only way to get this fine tuning is through prayer. The only way to show true Christian hospitality is to have time with God. It is not something that you can do on your own. Specially when you are exhausted or going through some personal trials. This is when you need to be prayed up in order to be filled up!

Prayer that seems to be lacking nowadays in churches because modern services have placed an emphasis on worship, sermon and small prayer. Instead of Big prayer time, Worship and small sermons. So goes our prayer time, so goes our hospitality time. There is no way that we can be humble and sincere hosts, without being prayed up and filled by God’s Spirit.

So be prayed up, filled up, in order to love all those who come into your homes. Humbly host people, be in one accord in unity of the Holy Spirit. Also be loving enough for people to want to follow Christ . Make disciples of all who come to your homes by showing them the Christ-like hospitality, having people leave your home glorifying God for you…

Be Still & Heal |God’s Attributes for Calamities

Be still and know that I am God. We hear or read this over and over in the Bible. It is not until we are going through an excruciating ordeal that we seek answers; this is human nature. As humans, we tend to seek a higher power to guide us through hard periods in life.
However, most people will wait to speak to God only after the painful and mental ordeal of trying to cope with things on our own.
Do you notice I include myself in this too? That’s because I have learned to seek God consistently and be still enough to hear Him reply. No, I am not crazy, nor do I see dead people….

The voice of God is not audible, although, in recent times, people in the remotest parts of the world have seen and heard Jesus speak to them; this is for another blog post.
What I’m saying is this, God still speaks to His people. He is still The LORD, who is outside of time and space. He is everlasting. No beginning and no end. He is whom all of us have a direct line to, and it’s better than a Bat signal or 911 call when it comes to mental and spiritual health.

You see, my God is a Healer. The best Healer you can have. He is called YHWH-Rapha or the LORD Healer or The LORD who heals. Yet, here’s the most incredible thing I find, the same word for being still and to heal, have the same root word—rapha.
One is Rapha—to heal.
The other is Raphah— to be still.
Both are signs of God’s omnipresence, which means that God is here, there and everywhere, all at once.

All this to say:
Whatever awful or despicable things you are going through, God is there for you.
Be still, speak to Him. How? Just start chatting as if you are talking to a loved one. If you are past the talking stage, cry out to Him. He is here for you. The only requisite is to be still. This means that you have to drown out all the noise around you— TV, Internet, Cell phone, friends, etc..

Find a quiet place; this could be your bedroom, closet, bathroom, or a public area where you go to think as long as nothing is disturbing you from being still enough to hear God’s still small voice.
Make talking with God a priority. Tell Him everything that is on your mind. All the bad, all the good, all your dreams and goals. Ask Jesus to forgive you on anything that is keeping you from Him. Any wrongs you have committed, any hangups you have, any fears or insecurities. He is there to listen to you; but here’s the most critical part— He is there to speak and guide you through it all. You just need to be still and know He is there.
When you sit still, two things are happening:

The first thing is that you are connecting to the most powerful Being in this universe. The one who created and maintains all of the universe. Every single atom of life is in His hands. Being still heals you.
Secondly, as you speak and listen to God, He becomes the Healer. Jesus came to heal people from all kinds of problems.
Let Jesus into your life. He is the Way, The Truth and The Life. He is also the only one that can raise you from the dust, dirt, and ashes because He is the Resurrection and the Life.

FAITH —HOPE —LOVE |Christian Basics

Faith—There is always a danger of getting complacent in our faith. Where people around you don’t know the incredible love of Christ and His atoning (sin cleansing) sacrifice on the cross, we will talk to them about sports, politics, events happening in the community and family, yet not let them know why we are so blessed in knowing Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior.

Hope— other people are needing the hope we have in our future. Not the kind of hope for monetary wealth or health and well being. The kind that says, “I am only passing through this beautiful life, but my hope lies in an even better place at the end of my journey — a place flowing with the real meaning of life. You see, the secret we have here is fantastic. Even with some of the bad stuff which comes our way. Even with immoral people who take advantage of what this world gives. These evil people take and take but don’t give back to the goodness of this life.
Other people, journey through this life and give away more than they get—the incredible hope that I have, the promise of one day entering into a permanent and enriching experience which I get freely.
Nor have I had to earn anything to get to this incredible place. All I have had to do is put my trust in Jesus the Christ (The Messiah or Savior of this world). I did not have to go door to door explaining anything or ride my bike to some foreign land to tell people about the Gospel. Even though sharing the Gospel is the right thing to do, we don’t have to go a thousand miles to share it.

Love— It’s been said that love conquers all. I am here to tell you that love does conquer all. Just look at the Roman Empire. The empire was never conquered by hoarders of marauders warring against it from the fringes of the empire. No, what conquered the Roman empire was love that spread within its walls. Christians were slaughtered and denied access to food and water. They were expelled from selling their things at the local market places.
As long as they rejected the local and Roman deities, Christians were bullied and tortured. Yet, these same Christians would give whatever they had to others. They would pick up infants whose lives have had been found lying in the streets because their families did not want them. Christians would live lives that emanated the love of Christ.
Look at the Vikings. They killed and plundered. They went into all of Northern Europe and took what they wanted; gold, silver, women and anything valuable. When they settled into the lands, they had conquered, something happened. These ferocious invaders started seeing what Christian love for their neighbor, churches, and their community was.
This love wasn’t perfect, but it was far better than the way of the Viking way of life. Decades later, the conquerors were conquered by this love of Christ.

Today, we are seeing all the wrong things that are happening in this world. Terrorists killing Christians with the sword, making it a point for others to fear them and letting the world know that all countries will need to ‘convert’ to their religion.
Political agendas demeaning Christian life and going against their livelihood with frivolous lawsuits and in other countries, not having Christians be able to buy food, water and the necessities of everyday life.
Just like the Roman Empire, the world is also hating Christians for standing up for babies. Christians will continue to do the things we do because Jesus told us that people would know we were his disciples by our love. It is not a fake love. Nor is it a bought love. It is a God Spirit kind of love. Only by knowing Christ can you have this supernatural love,

He is Not Here…! |Passion Week-Resurrection Sunday

This is a very special Blog Post for a very special Holy Week. Culminating today when our LORD and Savior Jesus the Christ, played a joke on Death’s sting (1 Corinthians 15:55 )! I usually don;t do a post on Sunday’s but for this, I will make an exception…

The Death of Jesus
“45 From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. 46 About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?”…..50 When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit. 51 At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

The earth quaked and the rocks were split.52 The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised.…”- Matthew 27:51

…5 As the women bowed their faces to the ground in terror, the two men asked them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again. 8 Then they remembered His words. 9 And when they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven and to all the others. .. 11 But their words seemed like nonsense to them, and they did not believe the women.’”… Luke 24:5-11

Jesus had completed the once for all sacrifice. His body had been tortured and killed.
As Jesus gave up His spirit, His body dying., the Curtains of the Temple ripped from the top to the bottom. It is said in Jewish writings, that the veil or huge curtain was as thick as a man’s hand. So roughly 4-6 inches thick.
In order for the veil or curtain to rip, it would take a supernatural event to make it happen.
This incredible statement found in Matthew’s Gospel gives us the finished work of Jesus the Messiah or Christ or Savior of the world.
Once He obediently became the blood sacrifice for the world, there was no need to have a Temple here on earth since His death on the cross was sufficient enough for taking (Hebrews 9:26) our sins away forever.
After they had buried Jesus, they sealed the tomb with a Roman Seal. No one was to break the seal, If they did, whoever was responsible would have the full might of the Roman forces against him.
Yet, with the most powerful army known to man, Jesus showed them who was more powerful. The tomb was rolled away by The LORD Himself!
The Roman soldiers saw everything but knew what their punishment would be for letting a dead person escape from the tomb they were guarding (Matthew 28:12)….yes, my attempt at humor….so the Chief Council in Jerusalem helped them out.
Why because the death and resurrection of Jesus put them in a fantastic bind. This non-graduate from their Rabbinic prestigious schools had, for three years or so, made fools of the wisest of learned men in Judea.
Jesus knew the scriptures, and spoke them with authority ( Mark 1:22). The authority of being the Messiah of Israel.
John called him The Word who became flesh ( John 1:-5 ).
Jesus had to die in order for humanity to once again come into a holy communion or relationship with God.
This is why Jesus came to be born of a virgin ( Isaiah 7:14 ).
Preach His Good News of salvation through Him and just Him (Isaiah 61:1 , Luke 4:18 , John 14:6 )
Be arrested, tortured and die ( Matthew 16:21 ) at the hands of the Council of Judea.
He also told His followers that he would die and come back to life ( see above link Matthew 16:21).
So today, Resurrection Sunday (Easter Sunday), we celebrate our freedom. Just as Jesus beat Death’ sting and rose to life, we one day when our bodies give up, will also rise up from Death’s door and live again ( Romans 6:5 , 2 Corinthians 4:14 )!

When You Boo God, I turn You Off |Moral Truths for Election Tuesday 2018

Before reading anything click to watch Bishop EW Jackson’s encouragement to black voters. I encourage every voter to take the same stand. Then please read this post…

As a registered Independent voter, I have a different view of what is going on in the political world without being subjective to one party or the next. I have voted for both party candidates in the past. But more and more, this has changed for me. I can’t or am unable to reconcile the doctrines coming from the Democratic Party anymore. They are anti everything. The overall rhetoric being conveyed from the top down, is simply frightening.

A lot of Hispanics, Blacks voters, vote because their families voted Democrat. This was my case. Before I was a Christian, I had heard how awful President Reagan was. What I kept hearing from my family and friends made my thoughts who they were.

To the point which I am now ashamed of admitting, that I grinned when we heard the President had been shot. This was in high school in the early 80s. How awful, lost and pathetic was I?

Brings me to the point I am making. We are what we hear. The social media and news outlets have a 90% negative reporting on President Trump. Even though he has done what he promised while campaigning. He has brought this country back from economic recession. Not that I am a 100% Trump supporter. He makes me cringe sometimes when he opens his mouth. This is in fact, what America is nowadays…more on that in a future post. Just remember, we elected what America is. Our reflection is who we vote in…

Compared to what we hear now in Democratic circles, if you were to take what JFK said in his State of The Union’s, he would sound very much like a conservative today…the shift in Democratic philosophy has drastically swung to the far left, almost socialist….I remember how most Democrats booed God in their 2016 convention.

This divisive crowd booed in 2012, DNC Chair Antonio Villaraigosa, had to ask three times for votes on reinserting references to God, and Jerusulem, back into the Democratic Party platform. Why? Because the Democratic Leadership knew that it had turned off a good percentage of liberal voters in the country. Some Democrats gave so many excuses when these two events happened. Yet, I see something happening that is very disconcerting. This party is becoming alarmingly secular and socialist. When people I know who are Democrats try to explain these events off as no big deal, I will stop them when I hear this and tell them:

There was a time in America when someone started a prayer, 99.9% of people would stop everything and show respect for the prayer to God. This did not happen in the prayer/ convocation in 2016 nor did it stop there.

Granted, some people defend the boo’s saying that it was the Bernieites who booed against Hillary’s nomination. But, this is my point. Some adults have become like those unruly-screaming-for-everything-they-don’t-get-kids we all see at stores. The ones the parents look and stand by like victims instead of parents….

To the sane Democrats out there, it looks like it’s your responsibility to become the parent who brings back the unruliness of your party. Before it’s too late.

This is the problem I see with the Democratic Party, they have allowed a good percentage of people to dictate and bully their agendas. It’s time for some of my family members who vote Democrat, to really think things through, before automatically voting for their Party. The videos say enough of what is happening. The news media shows off the screamer adult kids who have gotten their way throughout their lives without true parental discipline. Hence, the state we are now in. And hence, my Independence from that Party in decline…and my Independence in voting for what’s morally right, just and will glorify God!
