I’m starting a Sips of Living Water blog post. Meaning that to some people, reading 500-1,000 word posts may not be attainable. I understand. For those that know me personally, I am carrying a huge load. So, I will continue to post my regularly scheduled posts but also add small Sips of Living Water scripture I find during the day, that I enter my thoughts in. These will be short and to the point rough looking thoughts. Why rough? Because I don’t want this blog to be an extra burden to me…and to all of you. I would rather give the majority of my time to writing fewer but better detailed posts, concentrating on the Sunday study, keep going to Seminary and also finish up my books (phew)!
So from now on 3/4 of my posts will be context scriptures, with my quick thoughts on these.
Here’s the first one from my compilation:
I get these bible verses through E-Sword App and they automatically refresh throughout the day. I find this to be quite helpful since it gives me random scripture verses, unlike my intentional morning devotional.
As I chose the first verse to start this, I did so intentionally. Knowing that for us here in the US, the date is a special and solemn remembrance. Yet, most Christians during that day will remember only the physical aspect of the atrocities. I do my best to remember that those dark, misguided souls were not Christian, did not have the love of Christ, and were not guided by God’s Spirit. I also remember those who were lost not knowing Jesus. This is the greatest of tragedies. Makes me think of having the spritiual armor always on, because we are fighting an unrelenting and hidous enemy who is always out to kill and destroy those whom God loves.
Stay alert friends. Stay connected to God always. Keep that armor up & don’t forget to share the gospel with all those you come across. Becasue tomorrow is never guaranteed to anyone.
