“…16 “Then I charged your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your fellow countrymen, and judge righteously between a man and his fellow countryman, or the alien who is with him. 17 You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not fear man, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.'” Deuteronomy chapter 1 verses 16-17 NASB*
First off. I want to make something clear, as a Christian, I am bound by Divine Laws. But as a human being still stuck in a mortal body, I must do my best, do what’s right and just here on earth. This includes any decisions which impact my family and community morally and politically.
I was one of those critical of our President before he took office. I don’t agree with him on many things that pertain to his person. Yet, I have seen a change in his heart and mind. I have seen what he is trying to do for the good of this country. Of the flaws he has(I have flaws too), business is not one of them.
He is a savvy businessman who knows how to get things done. That is what we needed in this country for such a time as this.
After watching the SOTU (State of the Union) last week. I usually give myself time to absorb what the POTUS (President of the United States) has said. I then look at the full transcripts and then like any good Berean, break up each of the principal points to see if they are valid. I am an Independent so no one can say that I am biased…
His address was one of his better speeches. He has tried to unite both parties to work together for the good of the Union. Which brings me to my observations:
~ Did you see Bernie and the rest of the Democrats not standing up for the President during his SOTU address? Isn’t that a terrible thing? I am not looking for a standing O every time our President says anything, but at least make an honest effort to clap and not look so angry!
~ Even worse, their disgruntled sour lemon faces told me that they are not and will not cave to anything the other side says or does. That is a shame.
You see, we have a problem, it has to do with a heart issue. America has a pride issue. It will not be solved by any politician or party. It can only be resolved by turning back to God and asking for His guidance.
Having seen the faces of those who want political power no matter the consequences of whether they are there to help the people or just themselves, I really want every person reading this to pray for the politicians who are in leadership. They are the ones making decisions for the country.
Let’s make sure that we cover them in prayers to humble themselves and ask God for guidance, instead of seeking power for self-preservation.
As Christians, we are not to be respecters of men. In other words, we should be so in tune with what God is speaking to us through His Bible and meditate on what He tells us through prayer. So when we discern our leaders’ hearts, we take action to pray for a change in them…. if that doesn’t happen, then we change the person representing us…
