Mountain to Valley First Responders! |Power of Prayer

“”2 After six days, Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves…..
…7 Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him!” 8 Suddenly, when they looked around, they saw no one with them except Jesus.””
Mark 9:2,7 and 8 Berean Study Bible

(Matthew 17:1-13Luke 9:28-362 Peter 1:16-21)

My wife and I have experienced multiple compelling mountaintop experiences.
A mountaintop experience is when you intentionally get out of your routine to seek the Lord and have witnessed His hand on what you have prayed for.
Some people leave for retreats for this. Some get up at four in the morning. There is no one way to do this. All are valid.

I am one of those that will follow Jesus’ teachings and will get up early to seek His guidance. (God made me an early bird. He knew I needed this more than others!)

Sometimes it comes quickly, sometimes it may take longer for this experience. God’s timing is not for us to dictate and the experience does not necessarily mean an answered prayer. What it does say, that if you are consistently seeking God’s guidance, the mountaintop experience should also be consistent.

My wife recently had a sorrowful experience with one of her friends. We prayed for my wife to be a ray of hope to her friend and her family, lovingly pointing them to Christ. I prayed for us to be a gleam of comfort and support including actually helping the friend and family out.

We received a quick response from the Lord and moved fast to make the tragedy more bearable. My wife’s sister and friends rolled up their sleeves and began taking the matters on.

They were like an elite team of first responders, rapidly descending on their friend and family’s tragic loss.

The moments after this amazing act of love towards their wounded friend were wondrous to behold. From out of the blue, they got support from others who wanted to help the grieving family.

As I watched the whole process, I could not help but think of three things:
1. God is always in control and in charge.
2. God’s will is always going to proceed.
3. With the mountaintop experience and the obedience of the person for God’s will to be done, an immediate and imminent spiritual battle  will be coming your way.

We always have to be ready to do battle for the Lord. Actually, we always have to get ready and pray after a mountaintop experience asking for God’s protection.
You see, the spiritual entities are our enemies.

They do not like us having the close relationship and connection to God. They want to disrupt our communication with the Holy One because they know that once we are in tune with God, the gates of the underworld tremble with fear.

They know that one Christian in tune and in obedience with the Lord is a danger. But when a group of Christians that are in agreement as one, the gates of Hades are in a complete frenzy and run for cover.
Be the kind of Christian that is so consistent in individual prayer, with your spouse and corporately with other believers. The kind that Hades sees you going into your prayer closet and radios frantically for as many reinforcements that headquarters can send before you even get started!
