What’s your gift to the world?
Is it music— bringing joy to people’s ears and hearts?
Is it acting— in children’s plays or huge drama theatre productions, or making the elderly laugh at convalescent homes?
Is it literature— Can you write or edit plays or teachings, or emails?
Is it a soft answer—Where you bring in peace and tranquility where there is division?
Is it loving little ones during Sunday or public schools?
Is it healing hands—doctors, or nurses, or medics?
Is it ________________ (you fill in the blank)?
You fill in that answer and give it to Jesus!

Whatever your talent, make that a gift to the LORD starting this Christmas.
He will turn ten percent and invest it in others tenfold!

Remember the shepherds who were out in the cold night taking care of their flocks. These were men who were considered lowly in that culture. Yet their gift to God was tending and keeping sheep.
Why was tending these sheep so significant?
Those sheep were going to be used for the Temple of God in Jerusalem. They had to be free of blemishes, well taken care of, and clean.

God invested in their love for tending the little sacrificial sheep and gave them a concert welcoming His Son into humanity. This would be the greatest concert for the ages!
God had taken their dedication of keeping those little sheep out of harms way, tending to their every need, and doing what most Israelites would not. Yet, these shepherds’ unselfish gift to the world, was taking care of animals which was seen as unclean and lowly in their culture. But they had such a gift for tending flocks, that Bethlehem was the place to go and buy sheep worthy enough to be in the Temple of the LORD!
God honored their commitment because 30+ years later, the God-Man Jesus who was born in Bethlehem, honored by the same shepherds who were tending God’s little lambs, and renowned for their blemish free sacrificial lambs, would also be sacrificed for all of our sins…
Who doesn’t know the little drummer boy song. It’s not in the bible but it touches everyone because:
— He gives of himself.
—The only talent he has.
—With everything he has!
—What about the wise men who traveled about 500 miles to see the Baby King Jesus?
—Each of the wisemen’s gift was fit for a King.
—What have you? The LORD asks…
—God doesn’t ask you to give what you don’t have.
—He asks you to give Him a little of what He has given you and He will turn it to gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Again I ask you,
What’s your gift to the world? What is your gift to the King? Go and use it for Jesus.
You won’t regret it. Start by asking God to take your gift and use it for humanity. That’s the best gift you can give to God, your family, friends, community, and the world….
Merry Christmas! May you find your talent and start beating your drums to the tune God has inspired you to!
