The Way Truth & Life – PleaseBeStillMoments

Be still and know that I am God. We hear or read this over and over in the Bible. It is not until we are going through an excruciating ordeal that we seek answers; this is human nature. As humans, we tend to seek a higher power to guide us through hard periods in life.
However, most people will wait to speak to God only after the painful and mental ordeal of trying to cope with things on our own.
Do you notice I include myself in this too? That’s because I have learned to seek God consistently and be still enough to hear Him reply. No, I am not crazy, nor do I see dead people….

The voice of God is not audible, although, in recent times, people in the remotest parts of the world have seen and heard Jesus speak to them; this is for another blog post.
What I’m saying is this, God still speaks to His people. He is still The LORD, who is outside of time and space. He is everlasting. No beginning and no end. He is whom all of us have a direct line to, and it’s better than a Bat signal or 911 call when it comes to mental and spiritual health.

You see, my God is a Healer. The best Healer you can have. He is called YHWH-Rapha or the LORD Healer or The LORD who heals. Yet, here’s the most incredible thing I find, the same word for being still and to heal, have the same root word—rapha.
One is Rapha—to heal.
The other is Raphah— to be still.
Both are signs of God’s omnipresence, which means that God is here, there and everywhere, all at once.

All this to say:
Whatever awful or despicable things you are going through, God is there for you.
Be still, speak to Him. How? Just start chatting as if you are talking to a loved one. If you are past the talking stage, cry out to Him. He is here for you. The only requisite is to be still. This means that you have to drown out all the noise around you— TV, Internet, Cell phone, friends, etc..

Find a quiet place; this could be your bedroom, closet, bathroom, or a public area where you go to think as long as nothing is disturbing you from being still enough to hear God’s still small voice.
Make talking with God a priority. Tell Him everything that is on your mind. All the bad, all the good, all your dreams and goals. Ask Jesus to forgive you on anything that is keeping you from Him. Any wrongs you have committed, any hangups you have, any fears or insecurities. He is there to listen to you; but here’s the most critical part— He is there to speak and guide you through it all. You just need to be still and know He is there.
When you sit still, two things are happening:

The first thing is that you are connecting to the most powerful Being in this universe. The one who created and maintains all of the universe. Every single atom of life is in His hands. Being still heals you.
Secondly, as you speak and listen to God, He becomes the Healer. Jesus came to heal people from all kinds of problems.
Let Jesus into your life. He is the Way, The Truth and The Life. He is also the only one that can raise you from the dust, dirt, and ashes because He is the Resurrection and the Life.

FAITH —HOPE —LOVE |Christian Basics

Faith—There is always a danger of getting complacent in our faith. Where people around you don’t know the incredible love of Christ and His atoning (sin cleansing) sacrifice on the cross, we will talk to them about sports, politics, events happening in the community and family, yet not let them know why we are so blessed in knowing Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior.

Hope— other people are needing the hope we have in our future. Not the kind of hope for monetary wealth or health and well being. The kind that says, “I am only passing through this beautiful life, but my hope lies in an even better place at the end of my journey — a place flowing with the real meaning of life. You see, the secret we have here is fantastic. Even with some of the bad stuff which comes our way. Even with immoral people who take advantage of what this world gives. These evil people take and take but don’t give back to the goodness of this life.
Other people, journey through this life and give away more than they get—the incredible hope that I have, the promise of one day entering into a permanent and enriching experience which I get freely.
Nor have I had to earn anything to get to this incredible place. All I have had to do is put my trust in Jesus the Christ (The Messiah or Savior of this world). I did not have to go door to door explaining anything or ride my bike to some foreign land to tell people about the Gospel. Even though sharing the Gospel is the right thing to do, we don’t have to go a thousand miles to share it.

Love— It’s been said that love conquers all. I am here to tell you that love does conquer all. Just look at the Roman Empire. The empire was never conquered by hoarders of marauders warring against it from the fringes of the empire. No, what conquered the Roman empire was love that spread within its walls. Christians were slaughtered and denied access to food and water. They were expelled from selling their things at the local market places.
As long as they rejected the local and Roman deities, Christians were bullied and tortured. Yet, these same Christians would give whatever they had to others. They would pick up infants whose lives have had been found lying in the streets because their families did not want them. Christians would live lives that emanated the love of Christ.
Look at the Vikings. They killed and plundered. They went into all of Northern Europe and took what they wanted; gold, silver, women and anything valuable. When they settled into the lands, they had conquered, something happened. These ferocious invaders started seeing what Christian love for their neighbor, churches, and their community was.
This love wasn’t perfect, but it was far better than the way of the Viking way of life. Decades later, the conquerors were conquered by this love of Christ.

Today, we are seeing all the wrong things that are happening in this world. Terrorists killing Christians with the sword, making it a point for others to fear them and letting the world know that all countries will need to ‘convert’ to their religion.
Political agendas demeaning Christian life and going against their livelihood with frivolous lawsuits and in other countries, not having Christians be able to buy food, water and the necessities of everyday life.
Just like the Roman Empire, the world is also hating Christians for standing up for babies. Christians will continue to do the things we do because Jesus told us that people would know we were his disciples by our love. It is not a fake love. Nor is it a bought love. It is a God Spirit kind of love. Only by knowing Christ can you have this supernatural love,

His Easy Harness — His Light Load |Salvation

Remembering my brother Eddie who passed on to be with the Lord around this time in 1996.
My faith tells me that one day, I will see those that have passed on to be with the Lord. I was blessed to know that my brother committed his life to God when I got a call from him six months prior to his death. He sounded joyous. His voice was peaceful. No one had to tell me what he would be telling me. He was a different person.
You see, my brother battled with alcohol for a decade or so. When he was in his early twenties, he helped manage a hotel. My brother was the guy that would take tourists all over Mexico City and show Japanese businessmen or German entrepreneurs how to have fun in a city alive with the worst of enticements throughout the evening.

This business of showing tourists a good time, along with his addiction, brought a heavy chain like abuse he could not stop.
I had been praying for my brother to find peace. Peace only Jesus brings. I know it sounds cliché saying this nowadays. But the truth is the truth no matter how popular it is.
You see, Jesus tells us that he brings life and more abundantly to those who call and place their faith in Him.

Jesus comes to give anyone who asks, a new life. A fresh start and a powerful ally who can take whatever addiction or bad habits a person has, and make them an added tool to our spiritual arsenal. My brother committed himself to this peaceful but powerful faith. But, his new committed faith would come too late. His body was too beaten with all the problems of his life. My brother had abused his body way past its limits. He would go home to be with the Lord.
His decision to ask Jesus into his life. To commit to Jesus’ teachings and Lordship had saved my brother from eternal catastrophe. He made his decision to follow Christ in the nick of time.
I am forever grateful for this and to the person who led him to a changed spiritual walk.
Today, I want to new courage to take the time to look at your life and see where it’s headed.
If you are struggling with things that are keeping you down or frankly enslaving you, ask Jesus into your life. Ask Him to forgive you of everything that you have done wrong. Any sin you want to get rid of. Make a commitment to changing your life with His help. It is the only way that you will break the chains that are dragging your life into a mediocre existence.
Once you do this, seek a Christian who you know is truly living like a disciple of Jesus. Ask that person to help you with your new commitment. And ask the person to help you learn more about Jesus.
You will see that your burdens will be lifted. Why, because this peaceful but powerful Person, will help you by taking the load off you, and carrying it on Him.
You will find that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Don’t wait, tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

Tale of Two Trees | The Cross of Christ

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his uniquely existing Son so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.”~ John 3:16 ISV

We’ve been going through the Book of Genesis and the one thing that we see is that the snake was (Satan), and still is a very smart and subtle creature. More so than any other animal or person on earth.

His (Satan’s) main weapon is to plant a seed of doubt. His second weapon is to fill you to the brim with pride:

Did Elohim really say this?… Does God really want you to stay pure?… Do you really think that drinking and driving is bad? I think you can handle a few beers and then go home, you can even go slowly by streets.

But the biggest and most dangerous lie is this:

Oh come on! Do you really think a loving God would only have one way to get to heaven? You know that all religions lead to heaven, right? His Son Jesus is not the only way. He died on the cross for the people who are too weak to follow any other religion. Can you see how these Christians need Jesus as a crutch? But you can work your way into paradise when you die by doing ________, and by doing ________. If it was that easy just to ask God for forgiveness, don’t you think all religions would ask the same thing? But why is Christianity the ONLY one that asks you to do something so easy as just asking Jesus to forgive you? You know I’m right, you have to work your way to heaven by doing more good than bad!

Satan knows human weakness. Not because he is all-knowing like God, but because he has been here on earth a very long time, longer than humans! He has perfected his destructive plan and knows how to destroy people. Do not listen to anything that you know is wrong. And please, do not fall for the subtle lie that Jesus’ death doesn’t mean a thing.

You see, the snake did his most destructive achievement in the Garden. When he sold Adam and Eve on eating the fruit. The fruit that would start a death clock the minute they ate of it. His best work was done by leading them towards the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil.

Thousands of years later, we see the same devious snake doing his evil work. But now, the crafty snake is trying to lure you away from the Tree of Life that Jesus hung on.

That Tree thousands of years later was cold, stained and bare of any fruit. Yet, as Jesus hung there, His famous words, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing,” resonated back in time to the moment in the garden, when our original befallen parents, Adam and Eve, had lost their paradise.

The Bible doesn’t say it, but, I am strongly inclined to think that Jesus went back to the scene at the garden, right to Tree of Knowledge of good and evil, and was thinking of the first two unfortunate creatures who would not be the last to fall for the snake’s lies. If you are tired of the lies this world has given you. If you have done everything to satisfy your bodily cravings, and yet you still feel empty and lost, come to the Tree that gives life! The Tree where Jesus the Savior hung on. The Tree that you could finally hang all your problems and emptiness or despair on. Jesus is saying, I forgive you, just ask Me and I will come into your life. You will have life, and more abundantly. Don’t let the snake fool you, he is a thief and a liar. Ask Jesus to give you more than the life you have now. Jesus will give you real life, not the counterfeit oil the snake has been selling you up to now…

Resurrect in Christ!

If you are stuck living in your crucified Friday, remember, Resurrection Sunday is tomorrow.
Jesus paid the price for your sins and sorrows. Give them all to Him and be set free!
